Cookies and localStorage are different.
Cookies are small values that a browser may send to a website’s server with requests. localStorage keeps values in the browser for scripts on the same site to use; it is not automatically attached to web requests. Both can store information on a device and deserve clear explanation.
The planning application supplied on these pages does not set cookies or include advertising or analytics trackers. Its saved planning feature uses localStorage. This description covers the planning application; browser, hosting or separately provided site-level services may have their own technical behavior and notices.
Storage used by the planning tools
| Item | Purpose and duration |
|---|---|
| buddysummitwimb-planning-v1 | localStorage holding the itinerary, shared tasks and budget you edit. Created or updated when you use those saved tools. No built-in expiry; remains until cleared or removed by the browser. |
| Emergency and contact draft fields | Processed in the current page only by our scripts. Not automatically written to localStorage or sessionStorage. Browser restoration or autofill may behave separately. |
Saved planning data supports the feature you choose to use. There are no optional advertising or analytics storage categories in the supplied planning scripts.
Control or clear your information
You can read all guidance without entering anything in the tools. To avoid saving planning entries, do not edit the saved itinerary, checklist or budget, or block site storage through browser settings. Blocking storage may prevent your work from appearing when you change pages.
To remove saved planning entries, use “Clear saved planning data” in the group brief tool, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Close other tabs containing the tools so old values are not saved again through later edits.
Copies are separate.
Clearing browser storage does not delete downloaded text files, messages you have sent, clipboard history or copies held by other participants. Manage those separately. On a shared device, avoid entering private contacts and remove any downloaded files when finished.
